In Bakhtin’s thought, the place from which we speak plays an essential role in determining what we say. Moreover, Bakhtin says that “…In order to understand, it is immensely important for the person who understands to be located outside the object of his or her creative understanding-in time, in space, in culture” (p.xiii). This chapter aims to unpack and map some of the many meanings of dialogic education and their relationship with technology-mediated learning. While the research study is mainly focused on what roles chatbots can assume in online adult education and precisely what needs must they meet for online learners, the chapter starts by delving into the theory of dialogic learning.
2023-07-25T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Louis Savenien Dupuis Journal of Multidisciplinary Research https://www.lsdjmr.com/index.php/journal/article/view/90 Exogenous crisis and the resilience of SMEs: exploring Open Innovation in the COVID-19 Pandemic 2022-12-02T07:29:32-06:00 Melissa Vasi melissa.vasi@live.com Vincent English melissa.vasi@live.com
Open innovation is one of the most discussedthemes in managerial literature. However, there are still many questions that scholars have not yet answered. A research question of particular relevance today is: How can open Innovation help SMEs overcome and manage the economic crises caused by a pandemic? In 2020, a global coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) emerged that has damaged several sectors, particularly by weakening the economy of small and medium-sized businesses. This paper addresses this issue by examining the literature available to date and provides a theoretical answer by investigating the influence of open innovation on the resilience of SMEs during the COVID-19 outbreak. The paper shows that several companies have leveraged open innovation to address the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. Moreover, open innovation can represent a winning strategy for SMEs in surviving extremely uncontrollable turbulences. A collaborative approach and an open mindset can be the right innovative strategy for SMEs to overcome a crisis caused by unpredictable exogenous factors.
2023-10-03T00:00:00-05:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Louis Savenien Dupuis Journal of Multidisciplinary Research
